The new Technical & Advisory Committee: Reinforcing Stakeholder participation in Bettercoal

The Bettercoal Board of Directors approved the newly established multi-stakeholder Technical & Advisory Committee (TAC) in November 2015.

The TAC will merge the two existing Stakeholder Panels (Social and Supplier) with the Code & Toolkit Working Group, to become a permanent committee. The TAC supports Bettercoal and its Board by providing expert judgment, analysis and peer review of both Bettercoal standards and stakeholder comments on those standards.

The creation of the TAC follows industry best-practice, being inclusive and providing a multi-stakeholder forum, where interested parties are part of the standard development process, with their views reflected in decision-making. The participants of the Technical & Advisory Committee will be appointed by the Board at the next meeting on 10 February.  The full list of participants and their bios will be uploaded on the Bettercoal website.
